sleepin' the night away

Johnathan is growing up!  still no further rolling over, but the past few nights he has surprised us by sleeping 9-10 hours straight.  the first night I woke up several times and had to check and make sure he was still alive...because just before he was sleeping 4 hours and then 3 hours separated by eating time.  Now when he wakes up, instead of screaming at the top of his lungs, he is happy and smiling and it's a very refreshing, nice and WONDERFUL change. :)  he still refuses to talk when I might even possibly be recording him (the little pill), but he will yammer away when I'm on the phone or when I'm listening to music or a book on cd while cleaning or crafting. :)
We got a pumpkin for carving Saturday...but before we really carve it Albert gets to put flowers in it for his floral design class. :) yay for flowers! :)

Rappin' and Rollin'

This morning Johnathan rolled over for the first time.  I'd had him doing tummy time, and then I noticed that his legs were still straight, but he was on his side on his chest. then he went all the way.  He hasn't done it since and he still can't quite roll from his back to his front, but a roll-over is a roll-over. :)

Unfortunately the "rappin" part has nothing to do with a video of him talking...As soon as I pull the camera out to get a video he gets all camera shy. ugh!

In fact the "rappin' " part has nothing to do with Johnathan...
Saturday, Albert, Johnathan and I went to the BYU lost and found sale.  We found some nice things...mostly things that I would use...like a hat and a coat (it's really cute!) and some earrings (50c a pair!) and an adorable necklace...we also got a dufflebag, an umbrella, some gloves, some bike helmets, and some other stuff that is escaping my memory...
anyways, it was a prosperous trip.  While we were there, we made albert dress up...I almost decided to buy the stuff because it was such a convincing costume...ah well...he made me promise not to post the picture I took on facebook...but said nothing about posting it on the blog.  so SHHH!!!  don't tell him it's here!
:)  yep, that's my husband haha.
so yeah. life is good.  Johnathan is growing (oh! he's also starting to blow spit bubbles!) and developing...and going through TONS of diapers...Albert is doing his best to keep up with school work...and me, I'm just trying to not take half an hour to fall asleep at night and dreading next school semester (hopefully the math class will be just like the first half and I can mostly ignore the teacher and do all of my homework in class...*crossing fingers*) and being excited for Halloween and the candy it brings. :)

That time does the Chinese man go to the dentist?

Toof Hurty.

Well, it has begun.  The long gruesome process of Johnathan getting his teeth.  It started a few days ago...at least that's when I noticed the signs.  He was running his tongue over his lower gums over and over for long periods of time...well ok basically if he wasn't eating or sleeping (and even sometimes then) his tongue was running over his gums.  Then he started sucking on his arm, something he'd never done before.  Sure he'd suck on his hands when he was hungry, but he was sucking on his arm hard enough to leave marks.  Yesterday I double checked and ran my finger over his gums and, sure enough, there was a rough spot right where he'd get his lower right front tooth.  Needless to say, we've been loving having his pacifier.  I've been sticking it in the freezer and then giving it to him.
If any readers have any tips that have helped them or people they know get through teething, please feel free to share. :)

Conference weekend.

We had a BLAST!  and I only had to miss the first half of the second session on Saturday because of work! :)
Saturday we had our friends Jared and Britney over at our house for sausage, bacon, eggs, and waffles.  we enjoyed them very much. :)  the foods that is.  I was very happy that I only missed the first half of the second session of conference because of work. :) yay!
Sunday, we invited Jared and Britney along to Conference Brunch, the most amazing array of food anyone will ever have...seriously.  You can just eat and eat and eat and eat and eat...and there will still be something else amazing that you haven't tried yet.  note: you should not go to conference brunch if you are on a diet that you don't want to break...because it will force you to break your diet.
a couple of pictures from the General Conference sessions
Jared and Britney fell asleep hahaha. :)
Albert cuddling with Johnathan. :)  I love my boys.

Prelude to Halloween

so the other day I put Johnathan in his Halloween costume to make sure he'd still be able to fit into it at the end of the month.
fact: my baby is going to be the cutest dragon ever.

First Football game

Friday, Albert got a hold of some tickets to the football game.  So...we went.  And took Johnathan with us.  little did we know it'd be WAY WAY WAY too loud for him...but we know for next time. :) We ended up leaving early...it's ok though because BYU had MUCH better luck after we left the stadium.  ah well :)
Johnathan was sleeping at the start.
and I like to look overly excited...but this is a picture of Johnathan after he woke up (one minute after the last picture was taken)

3 months? Already?

wow.  time flies.  and I've been horrible about posting often on here. oops?  So.  Yep.  Johnathan is three months old today!
new things:
-he LOVES swinging in the baby swing we bought (we put him in it right after we got it home and made sure it was clean and he was passed out within 5 minutes YES!)
-he is EXTREMELY smiley and is starting to talk a lot more (video to come when I finally am able to get him to "talk" to the camera)
happy boys watching a movie together.
-he can ALMOST roll over...he just hasn't figured out how to get past his arm yet...mixed feelings about him being able to move about the house.
-he usually will only wake up once during the night...so we lay him down for good around 10-10:30 and then he'll sleep until about 3:30, eat, and then sleep until 7:30-8 (sometimes later).
-he loves tummy time as long as his back is being patted.  ah well.
-he smiles really big when kissed on the nose...and when you give him "buh"s (um...basically blowing a raspberry on the stomach...not sure what other people people call it...that's just what my family always called it because that's the noise it makes)
-his stomach is apparently becoming less sensitive to dairy because I ate both cream of mushroom soup and cream of chicken soup and he didn't have a very big reaction to them. YAY!  I ate a little cheese this morning so we'll see how well his stomach reacts to it later.
-where we thought he hated being swaddled, turns out we were wrong.  Recently my sister showed me (as our sister-in-law had showed her) that all babies still love to be swaddled even if they usually sleep with their arms out.  :)

Albert and I:
-Albert's name is now officially "Albert V Helsing" YAY!
last picture as "Albert Contreras"
Us with Albert's grandma up in Salt Lake City :)
-My last name is still Evans haha.
-I had a guy hit on me over the phone at work...and when I brought up that I had a son he still assumed I wasn't married...that was interesting.
-I tried original soy milk and discovered that it tastes a little like melted milkshakes...next time I will get chocolate.
-the soy milk has luckily not had a big horrible effect on any of my cooking that involves milk.  :)  except for the chocolate cake (from scratch) I baked recently...that tasted a little funny....ah well. :P
That's about all the "new" things for us!
