Thanksgiving Festivities

This holiday weekend has been WONDERFUL so far!  Sunday we started Johnathan on solids, so he's sleeping lots better.  So I woke up Thanksgiving Day morning at 7ish to my child making a few noises in his bed (not crying, just babbling) and when I looked in, he actually was happy and smiled at me! :)  This is after he'd been sleeping for 10 hours straight. YAY!

After feeling very well rested and happy and such, I rushed to work to check in the books from the bookdrop.  That only took 1/2 an hour, but I get paid time and a half so it's worth going to work on "vacation time."  Anyways, after getting home from work, Albert and I packed up and drove to my grandma's house in north Provo.
There we enjoyed the company of siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and my grandma. :)  Albert decided that he was sleepy and took a bit of a nap before the eating (I guess so that he could be wide awake for all the amazing food).
Johnathan, ever the daddy's boy, decided to follow his dad's example

There was much laughter and enjoyment and talking. :)  here is but a sample of the rediculiousness that took place:

Albert and I were also invited to go to his aunt's house for dinner so we were going to split a little early.  Before we left, Albert went out to play football in the street (a LONG LONG Evans family tradition) for 'three minutes'...30 minutes later we pulled out and headed over to his Aunt's house.

there we discovered that Albert's mom needed us to babysit Albert's two youngest sisters (Sammi and Melissa)  the next day.

Friday rolled around and we were grateful for "a day off".  Albert's sisters were actually really good for us...ok well, him.  I'll admit it.  I left the house (with Johnathan) at about 11:30 am because my oldest brother and his family were in town for the day. :)  We had a blast!  We had lunch and then took a trip over to a wonderful little park not far from the Orem Wal-mart.  ok I say "little" but it was acutally pretty big.
Anyways, at the park there was a duck pond.  as I've mentioned before, Johnathan has a little toy duck that he plays with.  he LOVED the ducks!!  and there were a TON of them!
my niece, Brooklyn, and the ducks. :)
most of the people in that picture are related to me. haha.
When I ran out of bread, the ducks saw John's white socks and took a few nips towards his toes...yeah...we didn't crouch down again after that haha.
my older brother, Stephen, his youngest son (chase) and his wonderful wife (Ashley)
Thad (my brother-in-law), Addie and Brooklyn.

When we were all out of bread, we swung on the swings...well, several sets of swings.  but eventually it got a little too cold for little Johnathan so we said our fair wells (well he screamed his good-byes).  He fell asleep on the way home (which was a blessing because I had to stop by Maceys and pick up a few things to make Albert a banana creme pie (which turned out AMAZING!)) and was calm when we got there.  Saturday, I went in to work at 9 since I was covering someone's hours...so I finally got home at 3 and then relaxed and enjoyed my time with my wonderful husband and son. :)

4 months!

(written at the start of the month, but not published because I wanted to put pictures in) wow.  time continues to fly as my little baby grows up. :P
-he now LOVES to sit up and tends to cry if he feels like sitting, but I'm not helping him do so.
-he's drooling a TON.
-once upon a time he would just poop little by little...unfortunately that has changed, and he now has explosion poops...which from what I hear isn't that uncommon for babies...it's not QUITE as messy as some moms have described but still...it's no fun to deal with...AND he always does it when it's my turn to change his diaper (ugh!)
- his two favorite toys (mostly because they're the ones we always hand him) are the psychedelic giraffe (named thus because it has all sorts of crazy colors and I've decided that it's really fun to say "psychedelic giraffe") and his crinkle duck (it makes a crinkly noise haha).
- he LOVES tub time.
-he's talking a LOT more now...the other day I was at the grocery store and he was even talking to the cashier.
-he's in the beginning stages of learning to laugh...so he'll laugh every now and again and it makes my day.
-he is REALLY ticklish (yay!  he got his daddy's genes! this means I can win ANY tickle fight we have hahahaha!)
-he already has a favorite movie.  Cars 2.  if he's crying just for the heck of it and albert puts it on, he almost instantly gets quiet.
-he loves looking in the mirror (which is nice at church because there's a big mirror in the mother's room and I can entertain him in there haha)...I don't always inform him that the baby there is him...and I may tell him that the baby in the mirror has stolen his mommy... heh heh.
-if he's awake when albert calls from school, I always put the phone on speaker, so that Johnathan can hear his  voice.  more often than not, as soon as Johnathan hears Albert's voice, a huge smile bursts onto his face (boom! haha)
-unfortunately he got my patience...and thus he has none haha.
-no longer spits up tons if I forget to take my allergy pill...and sometimes will spit up when I have... (never that much though).
-we haven't started him on solids yet...(honestly we haven't even gotten spoons or little baby bowls yet...we do have rice cereal though) albert says he wants to wait until John is 5 months...(well actually he said 6 months and I said 'start him now' and so we compromised)

and that's our little boy!  growing up SO so fast! :) we love him more every day!

Our updates:
-um really there's not much. Albert is still making it through school.  i'm still making it through the day with Johnathan and then going to work.  we've got our school schedules all worked out (i'm SUPER excited for my stress management class) and we're excited to be able to be going to my parents' house for new years! woo hoo!

video of him talking with my dad when my parents were out here a few weeks ago:
he's all wrapped up and plugged in.

My house is covered in sparkles

This is because of my "costume"...which I did very little for haha.  My co-workers at the library and I decided to have a theme. We went with high school stereotypes.  we had a goth, a know-it-all, a jock, a nerd (who did WONDERFUL at playing his part), a student body president, a drama nerd, and a valley girl.  Some of the people opted to be staff.  we had a principle, a science teacher, a Castiallano teacher, a librarian, and a lunch lady. :)
this is our librarian, our lunch lady, the nerd (he's playing a harmonica...he was playing an accordion earlier lol), and our goth.
foods!!  we also had another table of chili. :)
one of the class pictures. :)
 lunch lady
 librarian
me! :)  for some reason I was holding a cookie in most of the pictures taken of me...haha
 our "jock of all games"
the "know it all" also doubling as Hermione
 class picture
 librarian
me again...actually working this time...not cookie...well, I may have one in my mouth.
 fancy nancy :)
our nerd.  he was SO good!

I was supposed to be the drama nerd...but all I did was make my hair really curly, wear a floppy/newsy hat, wear a stripy shirt, and try to turn my hair silver with glitter hair-spray (courtesy of wal-mart) which only succeeded in turning my bathroom very glittery and spreading glitter everywhere...even on Johnathan ah well.  anyways, we had fun.
my little dragon...
not my father's dragon haha!
you don't have to watch it...but it's a video of his first Halloween. :)
our "mummy candles" last year our pumpkin blew out so we used these to let the kids know they could come and get candy.  Lots of kids came and we were so happy!  (only Albert tried to keep most of the sour war heads and gave away all of "my" nerds ah well hahah)
